James J. Finnegan
General Counsel James J. Finnegan is a Managing Director at AEW and AEW’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. He is a member of AEW’s Management Committee, Investment Committee, Audit Committee, and Investment Policy Group. Jay has over 20 years of legal experience, including private practice with major New York City (Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy) and Boston (Ropes & Gray) law firms. Jay joined AEW in 1993 and has been actively involved in all aspects of AEW’s investment activities, including public and private real estate related debt and equity investments. He also oversees AEW’s Insurance/Risk Management functions. Jay is a member of the General Counsel section of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont (B.A. - Economics) and Fordham University School of Law (J.D.). |
