Jeff Furber
AEW Global Chief Executive Officer

Global

Jeff Furber is Global Chief Executive Officer of AEW.  Mr. Furber has oversight responsibility for AEW’s global business across North America, Europe and Asia and is responsible for AEW’s strategic direction and for managing the firm’s resources.  He is a member of the firm’s Investment Committees in North America, Europe and Asia and the firm’s Risk Management and ESG Committees.  Mr. Furber has 34 years of real estate investment experience, including 21 years in his capacity as CEO of AEW. He joined AEW in 1997 from Winthrop Financial Associates, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apollo Advisors, where he served as Managing Director of Winthrop and as President of Winthrop Management. In these capacities, he was responsible for acquisitions, asset management and capital markets activity, including the sourcing of equity and mezzanine debt investments. Mr. Furber is a member of the Board of The Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE: HHC), STAG Industrial, Inc. (NYSE: STAG) and Boston Children's Hospital Trust. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School.

David Schaefer
AEW Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific

David Schaefer serves as the Chief Executive Officer of AEW's Asia Pacific region. He is a member of the AEW Asia Investment Committee, as well as AEW's Management Committee. He has over 28 years of real estate investment experience in the Asia Pacific region. Prior roles include the Head of Asia Pacific at Citi Property Investors, where he created Citi’s first Pan-Asia real estate opportunity fund, the $1.3 billion CPI Capital Partners Asia Pacific, L.P. Prior to Citi, he was Head of Property-Asia for Macquarie Bank, and Senior Advisor to the Schroder Asian Properties fund. Mr. Schaefer has a B.A. and M.B.A. from Cornell University.

Jason Lee
Managing Director, AEW Chief Investment Officer

Asia Pacific

Jason Lee is Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for AEW in Asia and Portfolio Manager for AEW's Asia Core Plus/Value-Add Strategy. He is also a member of the AEW Asia Investment Committee. Mr. Lee is responsible for implementing the investment strategy including, sourcing, structuring and underwriting of new investment opportunities. Mr. Lee has 22 years of real estate investment experience. Prior roles include being a Director of Merrill Lynch’s Asia Opportunistic Real Estate Fund and the Global Principal Investments Group. Mr. Lee has a B.S. from Cornell University, an M.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is fluent in Mandarin.

Milton Low
Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Asia Pacific Property Securities

Milton Low serves as a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager with responsibility for the construction of the Asia Pacific component of AEW’s global property securities portfolios. He also serves as a member of the Global Securities Allocation Committee. Previously, Milton was a Portfolio Manager for Asian property securities at LIM Advisors, Ltd. in Hong Kong, where he co-managed an Asian Property Long/Short Fund and a JREIT fund. With 18 years of investment management experience in the Asian equities market, he has also held positions at Prudential Asset Management, most recently as a Portfolio Manager focused on Asia Pacific equities. Mr. Low holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia and a CFA charterholder. He is also fluent in Mandarin.

Tanya Do
Director and Portfolio Manager

Tanya Do is a Director and Portfolio Manager for the AEW Asia Pacific Core Strategy. She has over 20 years of real estate investment experience in the Asia Pacific region. Ms. Do joins AEW from Pan Asia Realty Advisors (part of Mitsubishi Estate Group) where she was the Fund Manager for the group's Pan Asia Core Plus Fund.   Prior roles include Chief Operating Officer and Head of Products for UBS Asset Management in Asia Pacific.  Ms. Do has fund management and acquisition experience across the Asia Pacific region and has also held roles at Mirvac Group, Goodman Group and Deutsche Asset Management.  Tanya has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Sydney and has completed qualifications as a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.  

Glyn Nelson
Director, Head of AEW Research and Strategy

Glyn Nelson is Director and Head of Research and Strategy with responsibility for directing AEW’s research activities in the Asia Pacific region. He is a member of the AEW Asia Investment Committee and a member of the firm’s Global Securities Allocation Committee. Mr. Nelson responsibilities include monitoring, evaluating and forecasting the macroeconomic environment, demographic trends and capital market conditions across the region. He serves as the Chair of the ANREV Research Committee and sits on the ANREV Executive Committee. Prior roles include Head of Asia Pacific Property Research for Aberdeen Asset Management and Head of the Real Estate Intelligence Service for JLL. Mr. Nelson has a B.Com from the University of Auckland and an M.S. from the University of Texas.

Jean-Philippe Gaudin
Director, Head of Asset Management

Asia Pacific

As Director and Head of Asset Management, Jean-Phillippe Gaudin is responsible for Regional Asset Management in Asia Pacific.  He has over 20 years of experience, with 15 years in the real estate industry working for global Institutional Investors and investment management firms.  His prior recent positions include Head of Asset Management for AEW in France (July 2015 to December 2017) and Head of Asset Management for GE Capital Real Estate in France. He started his career working as a consultant in Information Systems working for PWC and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young with a focus on technology, transformation, process and change management. Mr. Gaudin holds a M.S. in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Nantes (France) and M.B.A. from Nantes University.

Jason Maxwell
Director, Australia Country Manager

Asia Pacific

Jason Maxwell is Country Manager-Australia with responsibilities including investment origination, acquisition and asset management. Jason has over 13 years of experience across a number of Australian and European markets. Prior roles include Senior Asset Management positions at both Charter Hall and Macquarie Real Estate in Sydney and London. Mr. Maxwell has a B.Com and a B. Law from the University of Wollongong in Australia.

Michael Moon
Director, Korea Country Manager

Asia Pacific

Michael Moon is Director and Country Manager-Korea. Michael oversees the firm’s activities in Korea, which includes investment origination, acquisitions and asset management. He has over 25 years of real estate investment and asset management experience including the last 20 years in Seoul. Prior roles include Head of Macquarie Real Estate Korea. Mr. Moon has a B.A. from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and is fluent in Korean.

Yian Wang
Acquisitions, Greater China

Asia Pacific

Yian Wang is responsible for investment and asset management in China and Hong Kong.   Ms. Wang has more than five years of experience in real estate investment and asset management in Greater China.   Prior roles include asset management at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing, based in Shanghai and Hong Kong.  She graduated with First Class from the University of Cambridge and has a M. Eng and B.A. in Chemical Engineering.  She is a native Mandarin speaker.

Kiyomasa Matsuda
Japan Country Manager

Asia Pacific

Kiyomasa Matsuda is Associate Director and Country Manager for Japan. He is responsible for managing AEW’s day-to-day business activities in Japan. His real estate investment career spans nearly 20 years in Japan covering multiple asset classes and strategies. Prior to joining AEW, he was an Executive Director at Orion Partners where he was principally responsible for Orion’s investments in Japanese Senior Housing.  Prior to joining Orion Partners in 2010, Mr. Matsuda held positions at CBRE Global Investors and Macquarie Group where he was in charge of acquisitions. He is a graduate of Keio University, where he earned a B.A. in business, and Rice University, where he earned an MBA.  He qualified for the U.S. CPA designation and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker.   

Adrian Lee
Acquisitions, Singapore

Adrian Lee is responsible for investment and asset management in Singapore.  He has more than 12 years of real estate investment experience and established regional transaction track record across gateway cities in Asia Pacific and Europe.  Prior to joining AEW, Mr. Lee was Head of Real Estate Investments at Homax Private Limited, an entrepreneurial real estate asset management company. Adrian has also held real estate investment positions at UBS, PGIM and Union Investment. He holds a Master of Science (Real Estate) from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Bachelor of Science (Economics) from the University College London (UCL), and is fluent in Mandarin. 

Tervinder Chal
Head of Fund Operations

Tervinder Chal is the Head of Fund Operations for AEW in Asia Pacific. In this capacity, his responsibility includes fund administration and operations, compliance, valuation, debt surveillance, and performance monitoring. He has 20 years’ experience in the alternative fund space with leadership roles over the last nine years. Prior roles include Head of APAC Real Estate Finance and Business Management at Aberdeen Standard Investments, Managing Director at Alter Domus and VP of Operations at Vastardis Capital Services. Mr. Chal has completed his qualifications as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) at Sunway College in Malaysia. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Malay and Indo Bahasa.

Anna Chew
Investor Relations

Anna Chew is a member of AEW’s Investor Relations Group based in the firm’s Hong Kong office. She is responsible for marketing AEW’s investment services and for developing and maintaining client and consultant relationships in the Asia Pacific region.  Ms. Chew joined AEW in 2015 from Phoenix Property Investors, where she worked with current and prospective clients on all aspects of marketing, capital sourcing and client service. Ms. Chew has also held positions with CapitaLand and Cushman and Wakefield. She earned a B.A. from York University in Toronto, Canada and a Master of Science in Real Estate from the National University of Singapore.  

John Cho
Investor Relations

John Cho is a member of AEW’s Global Investor Relations Group.  He is responsible for marketing AEW’s investment services and for developing and maintaining client and consultant relationships in the Asia Pacific region.   Mr. Cho has more than 14 years of real estate experience in Asia, Europe and North America.   Prior to joining AEW, he was Senior Portfolio Manager at National Pension Service of Korea. He has also held real estate investment position at Hana Alternative Asset Management. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate & Urban Economics.
