AEW Capital Management (“AEW”), one of the world’s largest global real estate investment managers¹, today announced that Ms. Claudia Gernegross has joined the firm’s Investor Relations group as a senior Client Relationship Manager. In her role, Ms. Gernegross will be responsible for capital formation, client service and broader firm initiatives with a focus on the Northeast market building on the team’s national coverage in the U.S. She reports to Jay Struzziery, AEW Managing Director and Head of North America Investor Relations.
“Claudia’s experience across capital raising, investor engagement, and product strategy brings deep perspective to our Investor Relations team globally,” said Mr. Struzziery. “Her track record working with top-tier institutions and her ability to translate investor needs into actionable strategies are expected to enhance our approach to client engagement.”

Ms. Gernegross joins AEW from PATRIZIA after more than a decade, where she most recently served as Director, International Capital Markets. In her U.S.-based role, she managed over 150 top institutional relationships across the U.S. and Canada, led capital raising for real estate and infrastructure strategies, advised on $7 billion in product development, and oversaw the U.S. operations. Before building PATRIZIA’s North America presence, Ms. Gernegross worked for PATRIZIA in Europe where she effectively led initiatives to expand the firm’s investor relations business into EMEA, APAC, and the Americas.
Prior to PATRIZIA, Ms. Gernegross spent three years at GLL Real Estate Partners, where she was the first hire into the firm’s 24-month Management Trainee Program. She supported global transactions that contributed to new fund launches, and worked across investment and asset management functions in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and South Africa.
Ms. Gernegross holds an MBA degree from Columbia Business School where she received multiple awards for her service to the school and its community. She also holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from the International Real Estate Business School (IREBS) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from the University of Regensburg. Ms. Gernegross is fluent in German and English with conversational proficiency in French and Spanish. She resides in New York City with her family and enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
